WOODSMEN EXTEND WIN STREAK TO 3 WITH 5-3 VICTORY OVER GRIZZLIES

Oct 26, 2024

TOMAH, Wis. — The Wisconsin Woodsmen made their first-ever meeting against the Rochester
Grizzlies a memorable one Friday evening, racking up five goals — including two in both the
first and second periods — en route to a 5-3 NA3HL victory at the Tomah Ice Center.

The Woodsmen, who extended their winning streak to three with the victory, found themselves
staring at an early 2-0 deficit, thanks to back-to-back Grizzlies goals two minutes apart midway
through the opening frame.

Nolan Mix and Hugh Deinema, however, quickly pulled the Woodsmen even, tallying their 10th
and seventh goals of the season, respectively, just 44 seconds apart late in the period to knot
the game at 2-2 after 20 minutes.

Daniel Svozil and Tristen May-Robinson accounted for both second-period goals to give the
Woodsmen a 4-2 edge heading into the third, and Mix would complete his third straight two-
goal game 1:31 into the final period to round out Wisconsin’s scoring.

Steven Kelley did his part between the pipes for the Wooodsmen, stopping 23 of Rochester’s 25
shots on goal, while Viktor Budik chipped in three assists and Deinema added two assists to his
first-period goal.

The Woodsmen and Grizzlies will square off again Saturday evening, taking to the ice at the
Tomah Ice Center at 7:15 p.m.
