The Wisconsin Woodsmen return home for the third straight weekend, welcoming the
Rochester Grizzlies to the Tomah Ice Center for a pair of NA3HL games. Opening face-off on
both Friday and Saturday evening is slated for 7:15 p.m.

• FOR THE RECORD: The Woodsmen head into their weekend games against Rochester sitting at
10-4-1-1 overall and are currently in second place in the Central Division standings, four points
back of league-leading Wausau.
• LAST TIME OUT: Wisconsin outscored the St. Louis Jr. Blues 14-3 in the teams’ weekend series
last weekend, collecting 6-1 and 8-2 victories.
• ROLLING ALONG: With their back-to-back victories over St. Louis last weekend, the
Woodsmen extended their franchise-record winning streak to six..
• HOME SWEET HOME: Wisconsin’s two games against Rochester this weekend are the fifth and
sixth consecutive home contests for the Woodsmen. … Wisconsin is sitting at 4-1-0-1 on the
road, while going 6-3-1-0 at the Tomah Ice Center.
• TURNING UP THE HEAT: The Woodsmen erupted for 18 goals in their two-game sweep of
Peoria on Oct. 18-19. The eight goals scored in their 8-1 win on Oct. 18 were the most Wisconsin
had scored all season, only to be two-upped with the Woodsmen’s 10-goal eruption in their 10-
7 win the following evening. … The Woodsmen’s 10 goals against Peoria on Oct. 19 were the
most since netting a franchise-record 14 against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024. … The
Woodsmen have now scored 8+ goals in a game three times this season.
• RIGHT ON TARGET: The Woodsmen finished with a season-high 67 shots on goal against
Peoria on Oct. 19 — including 20 in the first period and 29 in their six-goal second period. …
Wisconsin’s 67 shots on goal were the third-most in franchise history and just two shy of the
program record of 69, set against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 27, 2024.
• WHITE-KNUCKLE RIDE: Six of the Woodsmen’s first 10 games this season were decided by one
goal — including three that have gone into overtime, and one decided by a shootout.
• FRANCHISE FIRST: After going 0-9-0-1 in its 10 meetings against Wausau last season, the
Woodsmen picked up their first-ever win against the Cyclones with a 3-2 victory on Sept. 20.
• FRANCHISE FIRST II: Wisconsin’s Oct. 18-19 games against Rochester marked the first-ever
meeting between the Woodsmen and the Grizzlies.
• LIGHTING THE LAMP: With his goal last weekend, Nolan Mix pushed his team-leading goal
total to 12, one more than Hugh Deinema. Joshua Kauppinen nis third on the team with nine
goals, followed by Tristen May-Robinson and Maxim Lazo with six, and Daniel Svozil with five. …
Deinema closed out the 2023-24 season as the Woodsmen’s leading goal scorer with 29 goals in
44 games.
• DOUBLING UP: Mix scored two goals in Wisconsin’s 5-3 win over Rochester on Oct. 25,
marking the third straight game in which he netted a pair of goals. Mix has now scored two
goals in a game four times this season, while Kauppinen has netted two goals in a game twice.
Lazo, Deinema, Johnny Thrasher, and Charles Murray have also recorded multiple-goal games
this season.
• TRIPLING UP: Lazo scored three of Wisconsin’s five goals in the Woodsmen’s 5-1 win over
Rochester on Oct. 26. It was the Woodsmen’s first hat trick of the season, and the third time in
program history they have had a player score three or more goals in a game.
• STREAK-SNAPPER: Kauppinen had his season-opening four-game goal-scoring streak snapped
in Wisconsin’s 6-5 overtime loss to Granite City on Sept. 27. … Deinema netted a goal in each of
Wisconsin’s first three games.
• LENDING A HELPING HAND: Deinema collected an assist against St. Louis last weekend,
extending his team-lead to 16. Viktor Budik is second on the team with 14 helpers, while Mix is
third with 12 and Kauppinen is fourth with 10. … Mix picked up four assists in last Saturday’s 8-2
win over St. Louis, one shy of the single-game franchise record of five, set by Hunter Nelson against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024. … Budik led the Woodsmen with 30 assists a year
ago, four more than Nicholas O’Brien.
• POINT PRODUCERS: With his 11 goals and 16 assists, Deinema sits atop the team’s points race
with 27. He is one of eight Woodsmen with 10+ points already this season, being joined by Mix
(12 G, 12 A, 24 Pts), Kauppinen (9 G, 10 A, 20 Pts), Budik (3 G, 14 A, 17 Pts), May-Robinson (6 G,
7 A, 13 Pts), Lazo (6 G, 7 A, 13 Pts), Murray (3 G, 8 A, 11 Pts), and Svozil (5 G, 5 A, 10 Pts). … Mix’s
five-point game against St. Louis last Saturday — scoring once and adding assisting on four
others — were a season-high and one-shy of the franchise record. … Wisconsin closed out the
2023-24 season with two players boasting 40+ points — Deinema with 49 (29 G, 20 A) and
Hunter Nelson with 46 (23 G, 23 A).
• BETWEEN THE PIPES: Steven Kelley heads into this weekend’s matchups against Rochester
sporting a 2.59 goals-against-average and a .913 save percentage. Lleyton Jaschke boasts a 4.08
GAA and an .872 save % and Otto Reinhart owns a 3.66 GAA and .875 save %. Andrew Peterson
(2.00 GAA, .913 save %) made his first start of the season against St. Louis last Saturday,
stopping 21 of the 23 shots he faced. … Kelley has amassed 238 saves in eight games, with
Jaschke kicking out 118 shots in six starts.
• SPECIAL TEAMS: After managing just one power-play goal in their first six contests, the
Woodsmen have collected 13 PP goals in their last 10 games. Wisconsin is now 14-for-66 on the
power play (21.6 %). On the flip side, Wisconsin has allowed 12 power-play goals in its
opponents’ 67 PP chances.
