THIRD-PERIOD GOAL LIFTS POWER PAST WOODSMEN, 2-1

Oct 5, 2024

TOMAH, Wis. — For the Wisconsin Woodsmen, Friday’s NA3HL game against West Bend Power
was a game of quality over quantity.

The Woodsmen had the upper hand in the quantity category — holding a 31-27 edge in shots
on goal — but the Power were victors in the quality category, scoring on two of their 27 SOGs in
dealing Wisconsin a 2-1 setback at the Tomah Ice Center.

West Bend netted the only goal of the first period, getting a Jackson Hoem tally midway
through the frame, with the Woodsmen knotting things up at 14:23 of the second stanza when
Daniel Svozil found the back of the net for the third time this season — leaving the two teams
deadlocked at 1-1 heading to the game’s final 20-minute frame.

Unfortunately for the Woodsmen, it would be the Power who broke the tie on a goal by Quinn
O’Connor with 10:59 remaining in regulation.

Lleyton Jaschke finished with 25 saves in goal for the Woodsmen — including 13 in the third
period — while Power goalie Owen Soderholm kicked out 30 of Wisconsin’s 31 shots on goal.

The Woodsmen and Power will be back on the ice on Saturday for the second game of their
weekend series, heading to Kettle Moraine Ice Center for a 7:30 p.m. rematch.
