• FOR THE RECORD: The Woodsmen head into their two-game series against the Peoria
Mustangs sitting at 15-6-3-3 overall and are currently tied with the Wausau Cyclones for second
place in the Central Division standings, just five points back of league-leading West Bend Power..
• LAST TIME OUT: Wisconsin split its two NA3HL games against the Wausau Cyclones last
weekend at the Tomah Ice Center, falling 5-4 in overtime in the first game last Friday, before
getting three goals from Brandon Slasor in a 6-3 victory the following evening.
• HOME SWEET HOME: After playing eight consecutive road games, this weekend’s two-game
series against the Peoria Mustangs marks the third and fourth straight home contests for the
Woodsmen. Wisconsin is sitting at 6-2-1-3 on the road, while going 8-4-1-0 at the Tomah Ice
Center.
• WHITE-KNUCKLE RIDE: With their 5-4 overtime loss to Wausau last Friday, four of Wisconsin’s
last seven games have been decided by one goal. … The Woodsmen have now played 11 games
decided by one goal — including eight that have gone into overtime and three decided in a
shootout.
• FRANCHISE FIRST: After going 0-9-0-1 in its 10 meetings against Wausau last season, the
Woodsmen picked up their first-ever win against the Cyclones with a 3-2 victory on Sept. 20, and
added win No. 2 with last Saturday’s 6-3 victory.
• FRANCHISE FIRST II: Wisconsin’s Oct. 18-19 games against Rochester marked the first-ever
meeting between the Woodsmen and the Grizzlies. … The Woodsmen’s two games against the
Minnesota Moose on Dec. 6-7, as well as their NA3HL Showcase games against the Mason City
Toros and Minnesota Wilderness on Dec. 15-16, were also the first in franchise history.
• LIGHTING THE LAMP: Hugh Deinema heads into the weekend leading the team with 16 goals,
two more than Joshua Kauppinen and Nolan Mix. Maxim Lazo and Tristen May-Robinson have
also reached double figures in goals. Lazo has scored 12 times and May-Robinson owns 11
tallies. … Deinema closed out the 2023-24 season as the Woodsmen’s leading goal scorer with
29 goals in 44 games.
• FRANCHISE BEST: Lazo equaled the franchise record by scoring four goals against the Mason
City Toros on Dec. 16. The four-goal effort tied Nolan Mix, who tallied four goals against the
Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024.
• TRIPLING UP: Lasor’s hat trick against the Wausau Cyclones on Dec. 21 marked the third time
this season a Woodsmen has netted three or more goals in a game. Lazo has recorded
Wisconsin’s other two hat tricks this season. Along with his four-goal effort against the Mason
City Toros on Dec. 16, Lazo scored three of Wisconsin’s five goals in the Woodsmen’s 5-1 win
over Rochester on Oct. 26. … The Woodsmen have now had a player score three or more goals
in a game five times in franchise history.
• DOUBLING UP: Mix scored two goals in Wisconsin’s 5-3 win over Rochester on Oct. 25,
marking the third straight game in which he netted a pair of goals. Mix has now scored two
goals in a game four times this season, while Lazo, Kauppinen and Deinema have each netted at
least two goals in a game twice. Lazo, Johnny Thrasher, and Charles Murray have also recorded
multiple-goal games this season.
• TURNING UP THE HEAT: The Woodsmen erupted for 18 goals in their two-game sweep of
Peoria on Oct. 18-19. The eight goals scored in their 8-1 win on Oct. 18 were the most Wisconsin
had scored all season, only to be two-upped with the Woodsmen’s 10-goal eruption in their 10-
7 win the following evening. … The Woodsmen’s 10 goals against Peoria on Oct. 19 were the
most since netting a franchise-record 14 against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024. … The
Woodsmen have now scored 8+ goals in a game three times this season.
• RIGHT ON TARGET: The Woodsmen finished with a season-high 67 shots on goal against
Peoria on Oct. 19 — including 20 in the first period and 29 in their six-goal second period. …
Wisconsin’s 67 shots on goal were the third-most in franchise history and just two shy of the
program record of 69, set against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 27, 2024.
• LENDING A HELPING HAND: Viktor Budik has amassed a team-leading 26 assists, seven up on
both Deinema and Kauppinen. The trio are among seven Woodsmen with 10+ helpers this
season, being joined by Mix (16), May-Robinson (13), Lazo (13), and Murray (12). … Mix picked
up four assists in Wisconsin’s 8-2 win over St. Louis on Nov. 2, one shy of the single-game
franchise record of five, set by Hunter Nelson against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024. …
Budik led the Woodsmen with 30 assists a year ago, four more than Nicholas O’Brien.
• POINT PRODUCERS: With his 16 goals and 19 assists, Deinema sits atop the team’s points race
with 35. He is one of four Woodsmen with 30 or more points, being joined by Kauppinen (14 G,
19 A, 33 Pts), Budik (4 G, 26 A, 30 Pts), and Mix (14 G, 16 A, 30 Pts). Lazo (12 G, 13 A, 25 Pts) and
May-Robinson (11 G, 13 A, 24 Pts) have both eclipsed the 20-point mark this season. … Mix’s
five-point game against St. Louis on Nov. 2 — scoring once and adding assisting on four others
— were a season-high and one-shy of the franchise record. … Wisconsin closed out the 2023-24
season with two players boasting 40+ points — Deinema with 49 (29 G, 20 A) and Hunter Nelson
with 46 (23 G, 23 A).
• BETWEEN THE PIPES: Steven Kelley heads into this weekend’s matchup against the Peoria
Mustangs sporting a 2.86 goals-against-average and a .909 save percentage. Lleyton Jaschke
boasts a 3.95 GAA and an .887 save %, while Otto Reinhart owns a 3.66 GAA and .875 save %,
and Andrew Peterson has compiled a 2.48 GAA and .912 save %. … Kelley has amassed 365
saves in 12 games, with Jaschke sitting second, kicking out 347 shots in 12 appearances.
• FIRING BLANKS: Reinhart picked up the team’s first shutout of the season on Dec. 17, stopping
all 17 shots he faced in blanking the Badlands Sabres 3-0. The shutout marked the second time
in as many meetings with the Sabres that the Woodsmen held Badlands scoreless, winning 5-0
in the teams’ NA3HL Showcase meeting a year ago.
• STREAK-SNAPPER: With their 5-2 loss to Rochester on Nov. 8, the Woodsmen had their
franchise-record six-game winning streak snapped. … Wisconsin are 7-1-0-0 in its last eight
games.
• SPECIAL TEAMS: Wisconsin is now 18-for-107 on the power play (16.8 %). On the flip side,
Wisconsin has allowed just 17 power-play goals in its opponents’ 123 PP chances (86.1 %).
